No doubt.  There were no female teachers molesting boys, when I was in school.  The kids today have it so much better than we did.

Probably high school, lol.

No, it was just another example of something that could be advertised at school that some parents would most likely take issue with (albeit with less reason than the Hitler Youth Group :p).  I volunteered for Planned Parenthood in college, so it was the first controversial, non-religious NPO that came to mind.

This just goes to show that religion (not just one but all) is evil and greedy. A church suing a school district cause they refused shirts with religious tones to be sold?  Keep following the masses and you become sheep.

"Keep following the masses and you become sheep"

It's delusional to think that there is a place in existence where one can refrain from being a sheep. Everyone is a sheep in some aspect; the only variance is the flock.

So you are assuming they are suing for money?

They couldn't be spending their money on an lawyer only to be allowed to put their flyers on the bulletin board?

Jcarp, do you agree with the law suit?

No... and yes.  I don't like the idea of money originally set aside for our children's education going to other purposes.  Yet I also don't like the idea of Hitler’s Youth (a non-profit, non-religious organization) being allowed to post fliers on campus and not a local church advertising their weekly bible study group.

To solve this without going to court, the MUSD should immediately remove all non-school related fliers and amend their policy to only allow school sponsored activities (i.e. Football Game, School Carnival, Pedro for Class President, etc...) to be posed from now on.  If not, I would back the Baptist’s lawsuit.

I see where you are coming from, and I completely agree that anything non-school related should be removed immediately until this is resolved. I also think everything should have to be approved ALL the time.

I still think I don't like the idea of the law suit. . . it just seems like such a waste! I might consider writing to the district and the church and let them know wasting tax $$'s on this is really dumb! I want my kids to get an education, not have the district spending money on law suits. . . uugh!

If that church is suing for Hundreds of Thousands or millions I would be very disasppointed and would not support them.  But if they sue just enough to make a point, I will support their lawsuit.   I hope they win, and it makes national news to stop discriminating against Christians.

love@hm, would you feel different about the lawsuit if it wasn't your tax paying money?  Like say if it was queen creek's money?

EEE- I know it is sad- but, yes, I would feel better. In my mind I have to weigh what is better for the kids - the money for education - or money to cover the costs of a law suit - whether the law suit be for a good cause or not.

IF the law suit was based on safety or education stuff then I wouldn't be against it, but in this case I feel like the money being used on legal fees should be used for EDUCATION. I really think if MUSD doesn't fold (and I think they should) that FBC should drop the suit because of the money the district would have to put forth in order to cover the costs. Basically, the district is wrong - but I think FBC should take the higher ground and do what is best for the education of the kids (keeping in mind not just HS education is being affected here - but K-12 as a whole) since school is meant for education - anything faith promoting at this point is an added bonus.

love@hm, thanks for your honest answer.

I have another question.

Would you feel different if it was the LDS church suing MUSD?

I think the NRA should sue the school district as well since they dont offer a gun saftey course in high school and we all know they carry guns in schools these days so we might as well teach them how to use them right as well...right!

If kids are going to bring guns to school, they should be trained properly.  If I recall, one of the Columbine kids had jammed his shot gun.  Obviously, he didn't have proper training in the handling of a firearm.
