I'm wondering if there is something particularly funky about my house.  I have white/yellow mushrooms that sprout from time to time in the backyard.  Does anyone have any idea what kind of mushrooms these are?  And why they keep popping up?

too much moisture from rains plus sprinkler systems. i water at 430 am 3 times a week for 7 per sprinkler setting, i dont have any mushrooms. i would suggest cutting back on your sprinkler duration& how often.

~~~I water on the same schedule- 3 times a week 3 am for 7 minutes and I am getting mushrooms in the lawn- Its not just the amount of water!!  Its where the spores are lying dormant, its the extremely high dew point and humidity, warmth and yes water that causes a mushroom to grow.
Ok thanks everyone. Their only water sourse is the rain right now as I have nothing in my backyard to water. They've just been sprouting out of the dirt periodically. I just wanted to make sure they weren't poisonious.
i don't know what species they are, but we have 'shrooms too. the only water goign on the grass is the rain, so i know it's not the sprinklers.
they grow like crazy!
Shrooms are totally different than mushrooms... LOL.
You might get that crazy guy on the bike from the Villages coming to see you if you keep saying your growing shrooms... haha
We've got them too. Any ideas whats the best way to get rid of them? I cut back on the watering, and am concerd about letting our dog out un-supervised.
Do you think it is a yellow mold? I had yellow mold growing in my house plant pot. It sprouts up in spikes, kinda mushroom like. It is not toxic to humans, but it is toxic to plants. I'm not sure about pets.
