No, but Sunset Western Garden Book (my Bible  ) says it will grow here.  The vine is native to Mexico where summers are long and hot and it grows quickly with tendrils to 40 feet in length.  In frosty areas the leaves drop in the fall, but recovers quickly.

Hope this helps!

i have some growing along the backyard wall, it needs support like a tree or trellis as it wont cling to block walls like cats claw does. one idea is to plant the two together&the queens wreath can piggy back a ride up the wall on the cats claw. deciduous in the winter, comes back in the summer. drought resistant as well, blooms can be pinkish red or yellow.......

I was hoping it didn't need any supporting due to the tendrils...but your idea of letting it piggy back on the cats claw is a good option...

Any suggestions for a "self supporting vine"  other then cats claw that will cling to a hot wall...?
