doesn't mean that they have the right to ignore it. I have seen multiple people running the red light or disregarding the light altogether and pulling up like it was a stop sign. I hope the cops start paying attention.

I saw one just this morning.
The area is becoming a goldmine for the city with all of the idiots that think some rules don't apply to them and could care less about the safety of others.

I think OJ felt the same way.... Untill last night....

As a resident of Senita 1, I thank God for that light. I hope the police watch that corner vigilantly, and nail all the folks that ignore it.

No, I don't have kids that walk to Butterfield ES, but I DO need the opportunity to turn left onto Honeycutt ONCE in a while.

I agree. People need to start paying attention but there have been a couple of times I have drove up to the light and it was blinking red ligts, indicating a four way stop. I found that funny since people insisted stop signs would not work there.

I think lights are better than a four way stop considering the amount of traffic on Honeycutt.  When I was living in Surprise and first moved there, many of the intersections had four way stops.  Litchfield and Waddel for example.  During peak driving times, cars would back up about a half mile waiting their turn at the four way.  Once the traffic lights went up at that intersection, no more lines.  Granted, Honeycutt doesn't see that type of taffic volumn, but I think the effect would be the same.

Back on topic, I agree with OP.  I sit at that light several times a day, if I can wait, so can everyone else.  Go get 'em MPD.

THE IDEA OF THE LIGHT IS GREAT BUT THE TEMPORARY LIGHTS THEY PUT ARE PUT IN SUCH A WAY THAT ARE CREATING A FEW PROBLEMS. THE CITY OFFICIALS ARE REALLY STUPID, WHY THEY DIDN'T PUT THOSE LIGHTS ON A BETTER WAY THAT WILL LEAVE TWO WAY I WONDER WHAT THEY WERE THINKING. AND ON TOP OF THAT THE APPROVEL OF THE REAL LIGHT IS GOING TO TAKE 6 MONTHS I CAN NOT UNDERSTANT IT 6 MONTHS, AMAZING SUCH A SIMPLE THING BECOMES A BIG MISSION, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OUR KIDS,

Do you realize when you type in all caps in a forum that is considered shouting? Just a little FYI, not meant in a mean way, but more of a helpful way, I hope!

I like the light being there, it takes a little longer to get thru but I think it was necessary and don't see why a permanent light is going to take such a long time to be approved.

I've had a problem with the light lately, even though I agree with it's use. It seems that early in the mornings, about 5am, the light refuses to change for those of us trying to get onto Honeycutt. I've called the 'powers that be' about it several times, but keep having the same problem.

Many folks have resorted to running the light, including myself. The city needs to MAKE SURE that the light is operating properly 24/7, or there will be complaints about it's placement.

Guy I know what you mean.  I don't remember which day it was for sure, but I sat there for a good 10 minutes on the north side waiting to turn onto Honeycutt.  I finally gave up, did a 3 point turn in the street and went through the sub division.  All in all, the light has been positive.  Now if they would make a left turn from Honeycutt onto JWP illegal, that would be awesome.

Isn't it strange that the idiots who try to make that turn are too stupid to go 1 block over to CG Hwy and make the left onto JWP with the light?

I've been here about two and a half months now.  It took me about two and a half days to figure that one out.  I don't have much occasion to go south on JWP, but when I do, its wiggle over to the light on CG Hwy.
