Who is in charge of picking up dead animals on  State Route 347. I’ve made many calls to Pinal and Maricopa County Animal Control and the dead dogs are still there. It's sick driving home from work and seeing the same dog carcass every day. I can practically see it decompose each day, until its just bones then it disappears. There are not many pretty things to look at driving in and out of Maricopa but this is ridiculous

I called animal control quite a while ago and they said that because 347 is technically Gila River reservation, they are not allowed to remove the animals. They said even if an animal was injured but still alive they were not allowed to touch it...the ones that can do anything is Gila River authorities.

Get outta my head Jason! We think way too much alike.

This posts just goes to show that someone always needs something to complain about. The dead COYOTES don't bother me. They should have used the invisible crosswalk at Riggs Rd.

I would say this is a not a complaint just unmoral to leave a dead coyote on the side of the road. I would like the tribe to start picking them up once in a while.

And I would like them to add another lane to both sides of the 347. At least the dead coyotes give me something to look at while I'm driving behind your slow ass in the left lane. Move over!

and if this is about morals, why don't you go drag them off the road and give them a proper burial?

Well, 347 is technically on Gila River's land as the road runs through the reservation. However, the state purchased the land the road occupies up to the fence line on the west and east sides of the road.

Seems like animal control is just trying to get out of doing their job.

I wanna see Morgan go move the dead coyote, then have the Gila River police come by and arrest their ass for trespassing on tribal land once they move it off the 347. It's the state's responsibility to move the dead animals from the road. But are you kidding me? You seriously have absolutely nothing better to do that complain about a dead coyote and reprimand people for not picking it up? You need a life.

Nay...Throw it over the fence and than call animal control and complain about a dead coyote on the side of the road and the aromatic splendor causes no bliss!

Any dead animals on State roadways belongs to ADOT - Contact DPS to report dead animals, then DPS will contact  ADOT. This is the fastest way for pick-up.
