They've got the speed limit set to 15mph where they're building the new bridge, and I've noticed people pulled over in the morning, I'm assuming for speeding.  But good grief, if you try to go 15 mph, you get a lot of frustrated people stacking up behind you.  I had one guy whip around me after we cleared the area and shake his fist at me.  I'm all for being safe, but 15 mph?  That is awfully darn slow!

Well with the 9 cops on Honeycutt this morning, I go 15. I even had a SUV on my butt the whole way!

+1

Have had people right behind me get pulled over.  The police have little tolerence for anything here.

It's a pretty dangerous dip. Yesterday a semi passed through and he completly disappeared for a sec. Ther is very little visability and there is a good turn in it.
I do 15 so I am not the idiot that causes a head on. Instead I will be the victim that gets rear ended.

For those that like the adventure, I will be there with camera in hand when things don't work out.

Since I rarely go anywhere without the kids, yes, I go 15 down the dip.

Can't do it. I refuse to take Honeycutt anymore. It's just too painful between 15MPH and the single lane for the temp light.

Yeah, my kids call it the "rollercoaster" and if I'm on the phone I have to tell the other person to hang on because I know the screams are coming.

I did get a ticket coming out of there before (it was arguably bogus) so I do make a point to go the speed limit....however for the kids I give it a little acceleration on the up side so they get the effects

After seeing all the cops there I go about 17-20 through there and they dont seem to mind too much. One thing I dont understand is.... when there was talk about lowering the speed limit on Honeycutt to 15 mph by the school, the city said no that would be bad and create traffic problems, but now it is 15 mph just 100 yards down the road. I am 100% behind worker safety in these zones, but I think 15 is a tad slow. they arent really working too closely to the road for it to be that slow.

Yes actually I do. There has been a huge problem of people speeding through the construction zone. I'm assuming all of you want this bridge? Well slow down and quit endangering the construction workers lives geez! It only temporary reduction of speed, are you in that much hurry that getting home 1 minute earlier is really gonna make a difference? Maybe if your husband or wife was working out on that site you would have a different outlook.

I drive the speed limit there. I love to see the faces of the drivers behind me as they cuss and yell at me but hey the saftey of my family is important to me. Plus I don't feel like paying double the fine for speeding in a construction zone.
By the way, I drove through there today and those guys do work close to the road. Even if they didn't, a vehicle could still lose control and hit them. SO SLOW DOWN!!!

Why is it the people in Maricopa always question the speed limit?? I have seen so many people on here complain about the speed limit being to slow for you. Then when you get pulled over for speeding, you come on here and complain about the police being jerks. Is there anything that make people in Maricopa happy???

You sound like a construction worker.

Why is it when someone points something out, that poster has to be in the job field??? Hmm I support the police so I must be a cop or married to one. I support the firefighters, so I must be one or married to one. Hmm if i go on, I support the military, must work or married to one. Wow, I have a lot of jobs or husbands from those fields. Why can't people just respect each other and each other's LIFE (as in slow down for construction workers)??

This morning, with the sun fully in my eyes, I went through the wash and was very glad I was going the 15 mph as a kid on a bicycle came down the hill on my side (against traffic) and I was able to move over. If I had been going any faster he may have been a hood ornament Probably not the best place for bikes but there really aren't any alternatives.

Yes, that's really my name

Hey bmw, perhaps it should be 5 mph? Wouldn't that be even safer?

KSU..you are the one who started about the speed limit. The speed limit is 15 MPH, face it, deal with it, hell just skip the dip all together. Take MCG HWY or go around and take smith enke. Both are faster than 15. Obviously you don't care about the workers building the bridge. They are saying it will be done early next year, so either change your route until then or get the stick out of your ass and go the speed limit. And before you want to direct smart ass remarks towards me, how about including all the other posters who said basically the same thing I did.

There are workers present and the posted limit is 15mph, for safety.  If their lives mean that little too, then stay off Honeycutt.
