On the brightside, I'm getting nearly 14k from the insurance for a 4 year old car (paid off two weeks ago, two years early) that had 50k miles on it. I don't think I could've gotten that much had I traded it in, lol.

wow! Are you sure you didn't crash it on purpose That's a pretty sweet deal...I paid about $3K to have my entire cooling system replaced and then about a week later totalled my car. Awesome. Of course I didn't have that much money laying around so I had put it on a CC thinking no big deal, I'll just pay it off, I plan on keeping this car forever! oops. I sure didn't get 14K...I got just under what I owed.

Welcome to Maricopa...sorry it's been bad luck for you Less than a week after we moved out here I got laid off from a job I worked at for 6 years....so I wouldn't be surprised if 'Copa is jinxed!

That's TOTALED? Man, the last time I had a wreck like that the ins. made me fix the damned thing. The truck was never the same and I wound up losing my shirt on it.

Glad you're OK and I hope life in Copa improves for you.

Yeah I guess they're saying that they'd fix it if the airbags didn't go off... since they cost nearly 2500 each.

The same thing happened with my accident. Someone t-boned me in Chandler (before I moved to Maricopa) but they totaled the car because the windshield cracked. In fact that was the only question they asked, DID THE WINDSHIELD CRACK? I didn't get 14K but the car was paid off so I had a nice down payment on a new one.

Yeah, my car was declared totaled because the airbag came out. The windshield was already cracked (thank God I didn't pay to get it fixed the week before like I had planned), but it cracked more in the accident. I had paid 4k cash for it so I had no payment, but the person who hits me's insurance only gave me 3500 for it. I knew I couldn't get the same car for that amount again (I got a pretty good deal when I bought the car). They gave me a rental for 3 days (over New Year's weekend, too). I couldn't believe that; banks were closed on Sunday and Monday for the holiday, so I basically had one day to buy a new car. I love my car, but now I have a payment and full coverage insurance, so I still wish it hadn't happened.

wow....I was in an accident and they should've totaled my car, but didn't. In fact, they fought me on repairs until I told them I'd have an independent auto mechanic check my car and write up a report....then they just fixed whatever I wanted.
