You are right concerning R-22 being phased out, but it will still be available for units currently using R-22 until 2020. In 2010 they will no longer sale units that require R-22, they will be 410 A. And if you have a unit that uses R-22 it is not as simple as just changing out the refrigerant, it is more complicated than that.

Exactly, since the R-22 is being phased out and the R-410a is making its way into the units, how is the R-22 being given away free of charge? Usually when something is being phased out, its price or value goes up... Look at gas prices, LOL.

We just had our AC unit looked at because it doesn't cool the front of the house very well and the AC guy said that the unit was a little too small for the size of house. I wish I would have checked that at our final inspection before closing. He said that it would cool a little better if we used the cheap $1.98 air filters because they allow better circulation because they are thin but, you need to replace them every month.

I would never recommend using the cheap blue filters, they let too much stuff slip through them and this could end up causing more issues. It will restrict air flow like bigfatbulldog said and this could lead to your coil icing up which will not allow ANY air to move across it and you will be one hot tamale!

And even with the pleated filters I swap them out every month. Better safe than sorry and taking precautions doesn't hurt!

Wow do you really feel you need to lock people in for 4 years. And at the price you are offering I would have to ask what is the customer getting? A real A.C. technician, or a tech in training who's real purpose in going to your home is to try to sell you something...

We also offer a Preventive Maintence package deal that is running $245.00 for a year, and that will include your 2 p.m. visits for the year where we will do a complete inspection of your unit as well as Blow out the condensate line, wash outdoor condensing coil, as well as tighten your electrical connections. And technicians are true mechanics, not sales men.  They are paid an hourly wage not commission based on how much they can sale the client.

If your looking for quality service feel free to contact me

I totally agree with ms_attitude, Preventative Maintenence is a must and that 4 years is a long time, LOL. But seriously taking care of your units is absolutely necessary. A lot of people say that their unit is brand new and that it shouldn't need maintenence but you wouldn't purchase a brand new car and drive it around without doing the necessary oil changes, air filter changes, etc. The same rule applies with your air conditioning units!
