Alert | Fry's is cheaper. They are always busy though. If I need something fast, I go to Basha's. I do like the covered parking at Bashas.
But I don't get gas at any grocery story. Shut up Jason. Gas for the car.

Alert | | I use Bashas. Their milk tastes better, the meat is better, they have a play area for the kids (a plus for me), but their store brand is horrible. Almost everything from food club is yuck, and the selection at Bashas is not always the best. The crowds at Frys are horrible, and I've never been there when it wasn't crowded. I'm excited about Walmart, even though they aren't much cheaper anymore, they still have a great selection and their store brands don't taste too bad.

Alert | You are all misquoting the OP, it was WT "F" not WTH....that, along with the other condescending remarks are why people reacted so abruptly. Fry's is great for a number of reasons.... the number one being price. I actually like the layout of the store, and find that if you go during off peak times- shopping is a breeze. You can't go in without swinging by the clearance table, there's pretty much always a great deal over there. I can't imagined doing my "big" shopping over at Bashas....getting half of what I get for the price of a full cart at Frys.
(and no I'm not biased because I work there....I shopped there wayyy before I applied.) | | Formerly DRich

Alert | I very rarely go to either store. I find that Frys is too busy, even at off-peak times and there never seem to be enough cashiers. Bashas doesn't have the selction on most items that I need either. I find both stores are really lacking in the "natural foods" section.
I do most of my shopping at Whole Foods. I'll run in to Bashas for something quick, only if I can't wait until my next trip to town. | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | I shop mostly at Fry's. I love their sales on their food and supplies. I hardly ever go to Bashas but when I do its mostly to get alcohol. They have a better selection. | | Post count: 2273 Joined: Sun April 02, 2006 9:41 PM Learn from your mistakes...cause the truth will come out sooner or later...

Alert | Posted By bmw4242001 on 10/06/2008 9:51 PM Posted By NancyReagan on 10/06/2008 5:20 PM Wtf, what's so great about Fry's? Is the gas special really worth it to you, to stand in line for 2 hours? Or am I missing something? Well Nancy..I don't think it is a touchy subject at all. I think the way you posted your supposed inquisitive question is what is touchy. First off, using acronyms (i.e.: WTH) that use harsh words while asking such a question is not inquisitive but a put down. It puts one in the defensive mood. For a person who has NEVER been there before, you use such harsh words to, as you put it, find out what is so special. Maybe if you asked a bit nicer you wouldn't have been ripped a new one. Second, you repeatedly put you have NEVER been there. Well if you want to know what is SO great and special about it , then make a trip there. Being able to get 10 cents extra off of gas is a plus but that is not the only reason my family shops there. For you to assume that is the only reason, as you have said and I quoted above, is absurd. So with that said...WTH is so great about BASHA'S??? I have shopped at both stores. IS paying higher prices for the same product worth a parking spot up front? Or getting out in less than 5 min? I agree with the poster who said they have only waited 15/20 max. Even at the busiest times, I have waited no more than 20 min max. Sorry if you think asking "wth" is so great about Fry's as I have never been there is absurd and a put down. I also don't think I implied the only reason people go there is for the gas, AS I HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE. I will probbly go there one day, but I work and have kids and just moved here, so when I have time, I'll go. I figured in the mean time I could ask on here...

Alert | PS I am puzzled by being called "condescending" several times! Do you people know what condescending even means? I'm going to guess no. Thank you to everyone else who answered, I will check it out eventually. I didn't realize Fry's had a big selection with all that other stuff too.

Alert | I believe the the (wth) was all wrong, and if you re-read the post properly it was '(WTH)' instead of '(WTH)' which explains why you people go to Frys' instead of Bashas'. { noticing the proper prenounciation and apostrophe in correct sequence}
Any smart shopper will embrace the fact that Frys' and Bashas' have sales; meaning that one store has better prices than the other any week of the month.

Alert | | I use to work for Fry's in Tempe and have met most of the managers from the Copa store. The customer service is the bomb diggity....lol And I really could careless about the long wait in line. As long as I don't buy any candy bars I'm all good..lol | | Post count: 2273 Joined: Sun April 02, 2006 9:41 PM Learn from your mistakes...cause the truth will come out sooner or later...

Alert | Thanks etch
Am I the only one that sees Wtf? its a lower case t and f.....together looks like an H.
dictionary results for: condescending
showing or implying a usually patronizing descent from dignity or superiority
So, tell me how your comment, "Wtf, what's so great about Fry's? Is the gas special really worth it to you, to stand in line for 2 hours? Or am I missing something?" does NOT fit that description????
I thought NancyR was smarter than that. | | Formerly DRich
