Mormons claim that apostasy overcame the church following apostolic times, and that the Mormon church is the "restored church". If the Mormon church were truly a "restored church" one would expect to find first-century historical evidence for Mormon doctrines like God the Father having once been a man and the plurality of gods. This is not what the first century Christians believed. Besides the Bible disallows a total apostasy of the church. Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Eph 3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. So please beware there is only one way, one gospel, one God to eternal life. Mar 1:14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
Mar 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." 1Co 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,
1Co 15:2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
1Co 15:4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, If you add anything to this Gospel message it's a false Gospel. No temple work is needed and the dead can't be saved from their sins by somebody being baptized on their behalf. You have only one life to repent of your sins and to believe in the Gospel. 2Co 11:4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. |
