Does anyone know why we have few street lights in Alterra?  My street is particularily dark at night and unless people have there front lights on, it is hard to see anything.  I wonder if this was just poor planning or if this is something the HOA has considered adding?

i think we have enough? i mean unless your going for the las vegas look i dont see the need for any more. I really enjoy being able to sit out at night and stare up at the stars with out alot of light pollution.

No definately not Las Vegas style!  I live in the Greystone community and my street is pitch black so I am not sure if the other communities are as dark as ours.  I think for safety reasons it should be considered.

The goal in many areas is to keep light pollution to a minimum by reducing street lights. I love being able to go out at night and see the moon and the stars. Having lived in both town and country, I vote for a country sky rather than city lights. Sit out in your yard at night and enjoy billions of miles of views.

When it was cooler out, I would walk/jog at night. For the most part, my entire route is lighted along Bowlin drive, but more often then not, they would flick off as I approached. I'm not sure what the point of this is, but there were many times I was in complete darkness when there should have been a street light on. Any ideas about this?

You should be thankful you have any lights at all. A there are many communities that have no lights. Pitch black. So again be thankful.

When builders plan the communities, they can only put up a few street lights because Pima county has a light ordinance. In Pima county we have up to 3-5 observatories. I for one love to walk out into my backyard and star gaze. It's one of the greatest qualities we have in Maricopa.
