07/31/2008 1:46 PM Alert

I need some advice... I am an accountant with a college degree.  I am looking to get my CPA and prepare taxes in the future but I am at a loss as to what is the best way to learn tax preparation.  I am looking into getting a Masters of Taxation and have also found "tax training" programs online.  What is the best way to learn tax preparation (and I'm not talking about the H&R Block type classes)?

Thanks for any advice!

I took a course at Stanford University business school. Worked with a CPA for two years then took the IRS EA exam
I have been doing income taxes personal and business for 15 years as an EA enrolled agent. I never took a CPA exam as is not necessary to do taxes. The EA exam is a 5 hour test. I would think ASU would have a course

Thanks for the information.  I'll look into ASU.
